For each of our furniture styles, we have a dedicated specialised team within our factory who can create the following:
CNC timber machining
We have many designs that feature CNC machine computerised high precision routering. This enables us to create amazing pattern designs carved and channelled into timber and other materials such as stone and metal. It adds elegance to any type of furniture and a higher perception of value.
Industrial
We mix a combination of materials to create contemporary modern industrial products. The majority of our industrial-made product comes from melted-down metals such as old cars and oil drums recycled and then recast to create an impressive industrial product.
Mother of pearl
Handmade using hand-crafted cut shell layers, made by truly skilled master crafts-people, we specialise in creating our beautiful Mother of Pearl collection. We apply a resin of any colour choice to compliment the beautiful shell inlay, making it customisable for our customers.
One of a kind
For some of our customers, we source ‘one of a kind’ unique artefacts from across India. These are original pieces and can be 50-150 years old. They are all handmade by generations of carpenters and each one is truly unique.
Agate combinations
We use a combination of different sliced coloured stones and varieties and then mix them with shards of stone pasted into a resin to bond the stones together to create a beautiful collage of a beautiful natural product.
Reclaimed timber
Little Tree Furniture specialise in the creation of products that are made from reclaimed and recycled materials including old fishing boats, structural beams and old doors. Most of the timber we use is 25 years old, showing its natural wear and tear, enhancing the beauty of reclaimed wood.
End grain
We use end grain in some of the ranges we produce. We acquire chunky pieces of timber and cut across its growth rings showing the true beauty of timber that is not always seen. It is a piece of timbers best kept secret that we expose to show the real beauty of wood.
Brass and metal inlays
We have access to stone cutting CNC machines which are used to enhance the beauty of stone. We offer CNC patterns and infill with a metal such as brass or aluminium to enhance the product and give an extra perceived value to our occasional ranges.
Bone inlay
We specialise in the creation of bone inlay furniture. Each piece is exquisitely handcrafted by skilled artisans. We have the ability to dye the bone used if required and are able to mix it with any colour resin to enhance this natural by-product.
Concrete
We specialise in the use of concrete within our furniture. Whether it is used as a design feature in our furniture or as complete sections of tops for example. We have a variety of textured concrete finishes and colours. We can also supply in a concrete veneer option as well.
Parquetry
Parquetry is the geometrical form of marquetry. We specialise in creating furniture with inlaid woodworking whereby the timber shapes used form a geometric mosaic using different wooden pieces to enhance this beautiful effect. We also achieve this with other materials such as metals, concrete and stone.
Marquetry
We use many types of timber and often mix timbers to create a beautiful marquetry effect whereby creating furniture that is formed with decorative patterns and designs. This type of inlay work is a speciality of ours and we have worked hard to perfect this technique.
Agate
We work with a vast selection of stones from around the world that are precisely sliced to size and bonded together to create a beautiful natural mosaic of natural stones. We have the capability to dye the stones to suit the customer’s required tone of colour.
Eclectic mix of materials
We use a combination of wood, such as reclaimed railway sleeper timbers, industrial recycled steel and toughened glass, to cover and enhance the beauty of materials that otherwise might not be able to be used on furniture surfaces.
Marble
We predominantly use Italian and Indian marble. Our collection of accent marble products is second to none, combining beautiful marble with many types of metal finishes creating a wonderful combination of materials.
Manufacturing Compliance
Our factory is audited regularly to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our workers, and to also ensure the legality and sustainability of the materials that we use. Our factory has some or all of the following:
SEDEX MEMBERS ETHICAL TRADE AUDIT
SMETA audited and accredited factory activities including labour rights, health and safety, environmental and business ethics.
FSC CERTIFICATED
Forest Stewardship Council accredited membership for approved responsible sourcing of sustainable timber.
EPCH ACCREDITED
Members of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts – an accredited member of the Government of India.
VKRISH VERIFIED
Members of the EPCH timber legality assessment and verification standard agency to show the legal origins of timbers.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We conduct our own internal audits to ensure our CSR are met. We also work with local schools and good causes.
