When working with factories overseas, it's imperative to us that all the factories are audited regularly to ensure safety, legality and sustainability.
We have thirteen partnered manufacturers all around the world. As a company, we know how important it is for forest responsibility and sustainability, that’s why we only work with companies that have the following:
A membership for approved responsible sourcing of sustainable timers, accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council, (FSC). This is an international non-government organisation, which is dedicated to promoting reasonable management of forests around the world. Now covering more than 200 million hectares of forest, the FSC allows businesses and consumers to choose wood, textiles and rubber from protected and responsibly farmed forests. FSC forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards, so we know when we source our timber from certified forests, we’ve got a foot in the right direction.
A proactive member of the Global Forest and Trade Network (GTTN), within the World Wildlife Fund, (WWF) group. GTFN understand the demand for wood and other agricultural product is growing, they want to ensure that this is done most sustainably, to protect the future of our planet as much as possible.
Members of the Export Promotion Council for Handcrafts, (EOCH), accredited by the Government of India. This is a non-profit organisation which promotes, supports, maintains and helps project a reliable and high-quality service from manufacturers in India. This organisation aims to increase knowledge surrounding manufacturing exports, packaging and documentation to business owners in India who ship products internationally.
Within our office, we practice sustainability every day. We always ensure we use as little electricity as possible, by turning off all the plugs when not in use, and installing sustainable motion detective lights, which only activate when needed. We only use recycled paper and practice a strict recycling routine when it comes to discarding items. Both kind and environmentally friendly, our workers often offer to take turns collecting one another for work, which creates stronger working relations and decreases greenhouse gas emissions.
